Group Physiotherapy

We have Saturday group physiotherapy sessions here at the practice. These will be held in small groups, focusing on particular areas such as hip, knee, shoulder or back.

First Contact Physiotherapy Practitioner

We have a First Contact Physiotherapy (FCP) Practitioner here on Wednesdays.

A FCP Practitioner is an experienced physiotherapist who assesses, diagnoses, and treats musculoskeletal (MSK) problems, such as joint, muscle, or nerve pain, on a patient’s first point of contact with a GP practice or other primary care service, often without needing a GP referral.

They provide direct management, including advice, exercise, self-management strategies, and referrals for imaging or specialist services, aiming for faster and more accurate care. FCPs can refer patients for further investigations, such as X-rays or blood tests, and to other secondary health services or specialists if needed.

They develop and implement treatment plans, including exercises and self-management advice, to help patients improve mobility and independence.

Self-Referral to Individual Physiotherapy

To self-refer for physiotherapy with Birmingham Community Healthcare, please call 0121 466 7600 and select option 4.

Alternatively self-refer to the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital via their form which is found on their website
